How did you get into ceramics?

I took a class while I was in college at a local pottery studio, and fell head over heels in love with it.

What do you love about the process of throwing?

Throwing is my mediation. I am focusing on one thing: to make a vessel out of clay. I go into a creative mode and lose track of time. It is also such a satisfying feeling to make something, like a mug someone will use every morning, out of a ball of clay. The whole pottery process will never lose its magic to me.

What do you love about the work you make?

I love my work because it is beautifully minimal and functional. Everything I create is made with the intention to be used everyday. If I’m going to make something, I want it to serve a purpose, and bring a little handmade joy into someone’s home!
